JLE-NS Toys for Tots Collection Deadline

JLE-NS is holding a donation drive for the Toys for Tots program this holiday season. Toys for Tots is a program started in 1947 and run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. 97% of the donation goes directly to the mission providing books, toys, and other gifts to less fortunate families.

Please help support this important program by dropping off your donations of new and unwrapped toys to the following locations: Community House Winnetka, 620 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, 2934 Central Street in Evanston, or Pure Barre, 910 Church Street in Evanston. We will be collecting donations through December 15th.

If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please scan the QR code or go to: https://www.jle-ns.org/system/donate_summary and select “JLE-NS Donation” and in the comments section, write “Toys for Tots” and JLE-NS will present the U.S. Marine Corps with a check at the end of our donation drive.

JLE-NS Trivia Night

We are so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and planned our 9th Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser, which had a Roaring 20’s theme in honor of our League’s Centennial Anniversary.

With your generous support, we raised over $11,000 to go towards this year’s New Member Project to benefit WINGS Program, Inc., which is a local non-profit organization that provides a pathway to independence for people whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence.

Congratulations to the Groovin’ Gatsbys for winning first place in the Trivia competition, to Allison Marks-Coulter and John Coulter for winning Best Dressed Couple, and to the Fabulous Flappers for winning Best Decorated Table.

Thank you again to this year’s Trivia Night Committee for their dedication and hard work: Melissa Twyman (Chair), Sparkle Bell, Nicki DeVine, Christina Dudek, Audrey Ganschar, Madison Joe, Shannon Kennedy, Valerie Rowlands and Betsy Turovitz.
