History

The JLE-NS is an organization of over 200 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The JLE-NS has supported charitable organizations that make a difference in our area since our founding in 1924. We have a goal of donating $100,000 each year until our 100th anniversary in 2024. Last year, the JLE-NS awarded grants to eight non-profit organizations of varying amounts for a total of $90,000 in Community Grants.

Application Process

The Community Grant Assistance Fund is expressly for the purposes of fund disbursement to non-profit, tax-exempt agencies and groups that enable the JLE-NS to respond to critical or emergency need, to provide seed money needed through the first year of operation, or to fund an organization that creates a significant community impact. Each recipient’s program must relate to the JLE-NS mission, vision, and community focus on advancing employment and/or supporting women, children or families.
