Done in a Day

Our Done in a Day committee organizes service projects throughout the year targeted at helping women and children in the community in either just one day or by addressing a short term need. This allows members to provide meaningful services in an impactful way. Some of the projects slated for 2023-24 are:

Make a Difference Day: In collaboration with the Volunteer Center of Metro Chicago, we will be collecting donated items to distribute throughout the community to those in need on Saturday, October 21st. Purses with a Purpose: We are collecting new and gently used handbags which we will fill with toiletry items. These purses will be donated to local women’s shelters to assist those who are victims of domestic violence and others in need. If you are interested in helping out, please contact us. You can drop off purses or new, unopened toiletries to our office or contact us for pick up. Both full size and travel size are needed. Below are some of the toiletry items we are looking for:

Soap/Body wash

Shampoo

Conditioner

Deodorant

Hand soap

Shaving Cream/lotion

Lotion

Mouthwash

Feminine Hygiene Products (tampons/pads)
