Shauna Myers – President-Elect

Shauna joined Junior League of Peoria in 2009. She served in several different roles, including Community Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Director of Operations and ultimately President-Elect before transferring League membership to Portland, OR. In the Junior League of Portland, Shauna served as Marketing Director, Information Director and was a committee member of the first annual Rose City Women’s Summit. In 2019, Shauna move back home to Illinois and transferred her membership to the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore, where she has served as Social Chair and now President-Elect. Shauna lives in Park Ridge with her husband, Peter, daughter Victoria and two puggles, Jack and Sophie. She works as a Communications Manager at Caterpillar and her hobbies include traveling, running, reading and getting involved in the community where she lives and works!

Karen Burchell – Marketing & PR Chair

Karen joined the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore in 2007 and handled Marketing and PR for her New Member class project, Kids in the Kitchen High Five Health Fair, held in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County, IL and Oak Terrace Elementary School in Highwood, IL. She was also Co-Chair of the American Girl Fashion Show Fundraiser, as well as Placement and Transfer Chair. Karen has also served on the Nominating and Placement committee during various years and was also the Personnel Director for multiple years. She has also served as Member at Large and Membership Director. Karen was awarded the Founder’s Award in 2020 for her leadership in promoting the League’s COVID-19 efforts as PR & Marketing Chair and as a member of the COVID-19 Task Force. She has been the PR & Marketing Chair for the last several years, which utilizes her professional background in Advertising and Marketing, as well as Social Media and Digital Engagement. Karen was also highly involved as a member of the Ad Hoc Community Grants committee, where she helped to analyze, select, award, and promote the League’s efforts in awarding grants to local non-profit organizations that have been especially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rebecca Garces – Member Recruitment Co-Chair

Rebecca Garces is a Past-President (2005-2006) of the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore and held the position of Executive Director of the Thrift House Board of Directors from 2015 to 2019.  In 1996, she joined the League to spend time with another working mom, since they were only finding time to keep in touch by phone.  Since being in the League, she enjoyed working on numerous Holiday Parties for over 700 abused and neglected children in Cook County, Save the Abandoned Babies Campaign, Girls on the Run partnership, and chairing – and being a part of – the Cookbook Committee, publishing “It’s a Shore Thing” in 2006. She has enjoyed these and other leadership and active member roles over the decades. Outside of the League, Rebecca is Head Portfolio Compliance at an asset management firm in Chicago. She enjoys reading, music and entertaining. Rebecca resides in Wilmette with her husband and small dog, Elly, and loves when her two boys visit.

Allie Paus – Member Recruitment Co-Chair

Allie joined the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore in 2015. Born and raised in the Evanston, she wanted to find a way to give back to the vibrant North Shore community, while sharing her leadership expertise with volunteer leaders. During her new member year, she served as the co-chair of the Baby Steps project, and has also held the role of New Member Co-Chair.  Allie served as the JLE-NS President for the 2018-2019 league year.  Outside of the league, Allie serves as the Vice President of Operations at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She enjoys cooking and loves spending time outdoors with her family. Allie resides in Evanston with her husband and young son.

Tasha Roberts – New Member Co-Chair

Tasha joined the league in February of this year. Tasha is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to Evanston, IL to work with Delta Gamma Sorority and apply to a PhD program at Loyola. Tasha joined the league because she wanted to meet new people and has a heart for serving the communities that she is a part of. Tasha enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family, and learning new things.

Amber Golegos – Social Chair

Joining the Junior League in 2010 Amber Hubbs Golegos has been an active member of the Junior League in several roles and 3 states including Portland, Oregon, Tampa, Florida and most recently Evanston, Illinois. As a member of the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore (JLE-NS) she has been committed to being a catalyst for lasting community change. As Past-President 2020-2021, Amber led the development of our $100k Community Grant fund which was established during the COVID-19 pandemic in support of local non-profits which align with our mission.
In 2018-2019, Amber took on the role of Thrift House Chair leading 8 members on her committee. In this role she served as a Management Board member influencing strategic decisions impacting the league. In 2017, Amber served on the Thrift House committee. For her efforts on the Thrift House committee, Amber was awarded The Founders Award which was created in memory of Dorothy Mason Croft, who was the founder of the JLE-NS in 1924. This award was presented to Amber in recognition of outstanding service to the JLE-NS through her work on the Thrift House Committee and to honor her visionary community leadership. In her professional life outside of the League, Amber works in Shopper Marketing.

Nicole Downie – Thrift House Chair

Nicole transferred into the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore in 2020 and joined the Thrift House committee. Prior to the JLE-NS, Nicole was a member of the Junior League in New York City and Columbus. Over the years, Nicole has held a number of roles within the organization. She has been Executive VP for the NYJL’s largest fundraiser, raising over $600K in critical funds for community partners; and Co-Chair of Affiliation, where she focused on improving membership engagement and retention. She completed the Nonprofit Board Clearinghouse course in 2015 and subsequently sat on the Leadership Development task force from 2018-19 and Managing Board from 2019-2020.  Nicole grew up in Wilmette, but now resides in Glencoe with her husband, daughter, and pet cat. Outside of the League, she enjoys baking, reading, wine-tasting, and the occasional trash TV binge.

Jenn Luczkowiak – Trivia Night Co-Chair

Jenn joined the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore in 2011. She enjoyed working on the Donations Committee during her first year for the Junior League’s Baby Steps program, which provides a beautiful baby shower with resources, gifts, and educational seminars for mothers in need. Following her new member year, Jenn co-chaired the Kitchen Tour while also co-chairing Admissions. She has previously served as Internal/External Communications Chair, Recruiting Co-Chair and Membership Director.
